- Why these questions ?

- some of the most fundamental

- some: not all, not systematically collected

- common denominator:

- they relate to modelling

- they arise when one take seriously, gives importance to the "Dilemma of Mapping Theories"

- fundamental ?

- large, widespread influence

- the current answers place a number of decisive constraints on the properties that instruments and products (conceptual and material) have

- [Kirsh, 1991, p.3-5]:

- address 'most abstract assumptions underlying ... visions of intelligence'

- 'identify issues which have become focal points of debate'

- 'Different research programs are based' on these assumptions

- see 'Benefits'

- "go back to basics"

- 'the' most fundamental: "Which are the fundamental questions of SWE ?"

- belongs the methodology of SWE

- requires a methodological study, a research that I do not have

- How selected ?

- from my experience

- I expect that changes in the answers will have a deep influence on SWE

- I am more confident in validation through practice, than in grounding throgh theory

- Benefits ?

- new answers can

- lead to define new decisive requirements that (properties of) instruments and products of should fulfill

- invigorate research:

- shed light, clarify some long-standing disputes of the field

- show that significant parts of SWE are receiving insufficient attention

- invigorate practice:

- by reminding (awareness) practicioners about the principles that are important sources of power of the instruments they use.
