Assumptions / Premises
- cognitive system (CS) as subsystem of the organism
- nervous system (NS) as physiological basis of CS
- CS as system of mental functions + functions-carriers
- autopoietic organization of activity patterns
- CS operationally closed / perturbations to CS, not instructions
- perception creates meaning (activity patterns)
- objects (percepts) are synthetic unities produced by categories
- categories (concepts) are complex paterns of an autopoietic mechanism of attention
- categories must be explained in terms of dynamics at a sub-conceptual level
- Validation: through coherences within my experience,
not through something independent from me
