Assumptions / Premises

  1. cognitive system (CS) as subsystem of the organism
  2. nervous system (NS) as physiological basis of CS
  3. CS as system of mental functions + functions-carriers
  4. autopoietic organization of activity patterns
  5. CS operationally closed / perturbations to CS, not instructions
  6. perception creates meaning (activity patterns)
  7. objects (percepts) are synthetic unities produced by categories
  8. categories (concepts) are complex paterns of an autopoietic mechanism of attention
  9. categories must be explained in terms of dynamics at a sub-conceptual level
  10. Validation: through coherences within my experience,
    not through something independent from me
