How the E-Mails sequence was transferred to this site

  1. Save E-Mail message as *.txt
    - give a name to the file which can be used as item in the index of the complete sequence
    - saving as *.eml includes a lot of header data about the transfer
    - my tool (MS Outlook Express) shows as format options only *.txt and *.eml
    - when [Content-Type: text/enriched; charset="iso-8859-1"], then MS Outlook Express displays also the *.htm option; but this does not help if one wants to cast each message into a template with header and trailer, etc.
    - when a message has [Content-Type: text/enriched; charset="iso-8859-1"], then saving as *.txt fails on MS Outlook Express.
  2. Convert *.txt message into *.html
    - open *.txt file
    - select all
    - copy and paste into template file AnyMail.htm
    - copy name of *.txt file and save AnyMail.htm as that name
    - change title to be equal to the file name (without extension)
    * importing into MS Word and saving as *.htm is bad because the distance between two text lines becomes too large
  3. Edit message
    - delete text of another message repeated at the end of the current message if redundant
  4. Update the index
    - enter file name in the index
    - link entry to file
  5. Link all *.htm file into the sequence
    - link "Next" to following file
