Marco,

I don't know about the state of the US science, but concerning the
humantities in the US, I'd say that, although the hegemony is waning, we are
still more under the influence of French idealism than not (Foucault,
Derrida, Rorty et al) and thus

is the dominant theme. There is a realist counter-offensive now, but I don't
believe that it predominates.

Was that to the point?
